Role: UX/UI Designer + Illustrator

SpongeBob SquarePets is a hacking project for the 2nd Viacom Hackathon in December 2014. The goal is to create an educational Tamagotchi-inspired application that parents can supervise and teach their children before they have a real pet. The prototype consists of a control interface on the phone and realtime display on the watch. The kid plays as SpongeBob to raise his snail pet Gary. Gary lives on the watch and you have to keep his "Happiness Meter" high by regularly interacting with him. Otherwise he would send you a text message to get your attention.

After you give an action from the phone, for example - feeding Gary, a corresponding animation of SpongeBob opening a can food plays on the phone and then another animation of Gary happily eating the food plays on the watch shortly after. The animation randomly comes from the existing Nickelodeon content or potentially promotes the upcoming episodes.

Future Development

1. Parents can login to a dashboard page to supervise their children's performance and furthermore create a customized mission.
2. The theme can be switched to any Nickelodeon/Viacom property to target different markets.

Honor

SpongeBob SquarePets was honored as the 3rd place in the competition. Credits go to my genius teammates: Adam Arif, Shafik‎ Quoraishee, Patrick Moraitis and Martino Buffolino.
